A dream come true for
a gambler after realizing that a bank glitch allowed him to withdraw more than
what he got on his credit card. Ronald Page, a 56 year old retired car worker
from Detroit was said to have a lapsed on his judgement after taking more than
what he is supposed to take.
With a few hundred on his account, Page was surprised after
being able to withdraw money amounting to $1.5 million. With the bank glitch,
Page could have been an instant millionaire but another possible lapse on his
judgement made him gamble all the money away. With his card, Page was said to
made unlimited withdrawals in a Detroit ATM.
The Bank of America finally saw the glitch and looked for
Page after he successfully withdrawn a total of $312,000 from Greektown Casino
plus $103,000 at MGM Grand. Another $514,000 was withdrawn at Motor City Casino
in a span of 15 days of gambling.
With the bank glitch in question, prosecutor recommends
15months in prison as a logical punishment for a man who had a lapse in
judgement because the glitch is actually the bank’s fault. Page will face his
sentence on the 27th of this month.
