Another weight loss pill is being tested

3Fexaramine or Fex, another weight loss pill might be soon approved by the FDA according to its manufacturers.
Developed by the Salk Institute, Fex was already tested with mice and so far result was promising. Based on the test, Fex was able to turn the thermostat of mice up to burn more calories and uses fats as energy. During trial, the mice showed decreased inflammation signs, lower blood sugar level and improved sensitivity to insulin.
In another surprising result, the researchers also noticed that the bad fats in mice were transformed into healthier brown fat.
According to the researchers, the weight loss pill Fex would not reach the intestine once ingested but rather it will rely on physiological trickery to induce weight loss.
Fex was developed like a farnesoid X receptor or FXR. FXR works by responding to an influx of food by triggering the release of bile acids for digestion causing the body to burn fat and change sugar level in the blood. FXR is activated before meal.
When Salk developers were working on developing Fex, they decided to work on something that would not reach the intestines to avoid side effects.eal.”
“It sends out the same signals that normally happen when you eat a lot of food, so the body starts clearing out space to store it. But there are no calories and no change in appetite.”
Just like any other weight loss pill, researchers said that taking Fex would be more effective with the help of proper diet and exercise.
Fex is preparing for a human trial soon and with its mice trial, researchers are expecting best results as well.
