Mount Ampacao Challenge (Team Promising goes to Mount Ampacao)

Mount Ampacao is one of the most popular tourist spots in Sagada. Mount Ampacao is at 1,889 MASL but with first timers like me and my group, we decided to just reach the ranch, then walk directly towards Lake Danum, another place of interest in area.
How to get to Mount Ampacao:
We decided to climb Mt. Ampacao in the afternoon so we can traverse to Lake Danum afterwards and watch the sunset. To make it easier, our guide suggested that we take the 20-30 minute ride to the jump site and start trekking from there.

On our way to jump site

The start of the trek is promising with concrete roads to walk on. For seasoned mountaineers, trekking to Mount Ampacao can be a child's play and wouldn't require a guide.
A minute after starting our trek

A trek to Mount Ampacao allows tourists a view of the Kapay-aw Rice Terraces.  In our case, it was a cloudy day so we were not able to have a glimpse of the terraces.

After walking for another 30 minutes, we reached the ranch!

Windy shot!

This part of Mount Ampacao is not the peak yet, but reaching it is an accomplishment for us.
After resting for few minutes, we decided to continue our trek to Lake Danum so we can catch the sunset.

The walk to Lake Danum from the ranch took us approximately 60 to 90 minutes. So before trekking, make sure to carry your own stick for support.

after minutes and minutes of walking, here we are!

This is staged folks.. don't be alarmed!

A trek to Mount Ampacao then to Lake Danum cost our group P1500 for both the guide and the vehicle.
The vehicle waited at Lake Danum to take us back to Sagada town proper afterwards.
After our afternoon adventure, we sealed the second day of our Sagada trip with a sumptuous dinner at Lemon Pie House.
