The King of R&B, R. Kelly, singer-songwriter behind the
hit songs I believe I can Fly, Ignition and The World’s Greatest unhappily cancelled his appearances in New
York due to complications of last year’s surgery. Last year, he had a throat
surgery after being rushed to the North-western Hospital in Illinois. This caused
another appearance in Jamaica.
Last Wednesday, another TV appearance with “The Jimmy Fallon
Show” and “Today” was cancelled due to the said after effect of his throat
surgery. Aside from the said shows, another appearance in Manhattan was also
cancelled. According to his publicist, R. Kelly got sick while travelling to New
York. He is now in Chicago for his medical treatment.
Kelly is supposed to promote his new album “Write Me Back”
which was released last Tuesday while at the same time promoting his memoir. His
memoir entitled “Soulacoaster: the Diary of Me” will be release this Thursday.
Sadly, his publicist was unable to give any specific date yet as to when the
R&B singer will be available to promote his new works.
Kelly is considered as one of the most successful black
artist with his 33.5million albums sold and is named by Billboard as the Most Successful
R&B artist within the last 25 years.
