An unknown Czech player beats second seed Rafael Nadal in a
devastating lost sending Nadal out of Wimbledon. Nadal did enjoy few moments of
glory as his servings rallied the unknown Czech player. However, after three hours
and 18 minutes, Rosol shocked the whole world after scoring 6-7, 9-11, 6-4,
6-4, 2-6 and 6-4. This lost is now considered as one of the biggest shocks in Wimbledon
after 126 years.
The lost of second seed Rafael Nadal was not an ordinary
lost because Rosol is ranked 100th, the lowest ranked player to beat
a second seed player. Besides, Nadal never lost second round in seven years and
Rosol understands this saying his win is a “miracle”.
With 11 grand slam titles on his name and two championships
under his name, Rosol knew that he needs to beat a big man but his steady serves
helped him win the game.
On the same story, James Ward, British number two top player
was also beaten in Wimbledon after playing against tenth seed Mardy Fish. Fish
won the five set game after meeting some resistance from Ward on the fourth
set. Still, Fish prevailed with 6-3, 5-7, 6-4, 6-7, 3-7, 6-3 scores.
