Just in time for a pose! |
A Davao tour is not a Davao tour unless you tried and
experienced the country’s longest zip line. Located in Ma-A Davao City, Davao's kilometer
zip line is 200 feet above the ground.
While still planning with my travel mates, I already made up
my mind not try Davao's longest zip line. However, upon arrival on site, the excitement of my buddies
changed my mind. Therefore, I went for it.
Davao’s Outland Adventure Xcelarator Zip Line is just 20
minutes away from the city. Upon arrival, someone will introduce the place and
explain how the zip line works. That someone will invite you then to try it and
will give you a waiver to sign.
The waiver is simple, it says they are not responsible for
your life in case the cable snap which you will sign, regardless, because as
they have said, the cables they are using are of the highest quality and I
agree to that.
Once the waiver is signed and fees are paid, they will help
you put on your protective gear. A short ride and short walk to the jump-off
platform is required.
We can do this! |
Putting on the gear with others (like unknown people who also
want to experience Davao) is pretty exciting. People are cheering each other
while some are bullying others. The short ride to the jump-off site will give
you time to reconsider if you really want to go with it.
On the jump-off site, the test of “who is the bravest” begins
as people start volun-telling who will do it first. I decided I am the bravest
so I went first.
The ride was smooth and I would say “cool.” I decided to go
for the classic zip line position which is sitting and I guess it is the best
position because it will give you the opportunity to enjoy sightseeing. It is
like being on top of the world. The speed is not too fast as I initially
thought giving me more time to look below me. I even had the chance to maneuver
myself so I can pose for the picture taking.
At the construction site, I mean :) |
