Experiencing Sagada's Marlboro Hill (Team Promising goes to Kamanbaneng Peak, Sagada, Mt. Province)

Good Morning Marlboro Hill!!
As part of our Sagada tour, the team decided to start our second day with an early sunrise watching from the peak of Marlboro Hill. Marlboro Hill is locally known as Kamanbaneng Peak but popularized as Marlboro Hill due to its scenic mountain, wet grass and wild horses that roam around (just like the Marlboro Country commercial for kids who were born in the early 90s).

How to go to Marlboro Hill

The easiest way to get to Marlboro Hill is to get a tour guide from Sagada. We started our Marlboro Hill hike at around 5 in the morning. A van brought us to the jump off site and from there, a good 30 to 60 minute walk is needed.

You have to trek in a road like this..
For team promising, the elusive sunset was so elusive that we end up seeing fog while fighting the biting cold and wind from the peak. Luckily, another group of sunset expectant invited us to share their bonfire.

Since there is no sunrise to see nor wild horses to chase, we took the chance to take some photos like these:
Brrrr...
Thank you selfie pod...
After accepting the fact that the fog won over the sunrise, we decided to descend and plan our next sunrise watching move! On our last day, we agreed to see Mount Kiltepan and take our chance to watch the sunrise from Sagada.

Another pictorial on our way down!

Although we did not catch the sunrise from Marlboro Hill, the experience of climbing a mountain early in the morning while the wind is so bitingly cold is indeed awesome. To make it more memorable, we had an awesome breakfast at the famous Sagada Brew.
