Experiencing Cebu's Osmeña Peak (Team Promising Goes to Dalaguete, Cebu City)

 Welcome to Osmeña Peak!
Hearing of Osmeña Peak, I initially thought of another half day of walking and climbing another mountain. The good news is, it is not. Although it is the highest mountain in Cebu at 1,013 meters above sea level, the climb to its summit is not that tiring.

How to go to Osmeña Peak
-From Cebu City, go to South Bus Terminal and look for a bus going to Santander or Argao.
-Ask the bus assistant to drop you off to Mantalongon or just tell them that you are going to Osmeña Peak. The fare is around P100.

-From Mantalongon, ride a habal-habal to the foot of the mountain. The ride is a good 30 to 45 minutes for P100 on a single way per person. They can wait for you to take you back to Mantalongon for another P100.

Osmeña Peak at a Glance

The climb can be done in 30 to 40 minutes. The trail is easy to follow and is just like a walk in the park or farm rather. Although the trail is easy to follow, it is best to hire a guide from the local kids, it can be our way of giving back to them for allowing us to share this wonderful view in their area. You can give any amount to your guide so it is not a big deal.

Lucky us, our tour guide is also handy when it comes to taking pictures!
On our way to the top!

Pictorial galore!
While on top!
Since we started our Osmeña Peak journey early in the morning, we reached the summit around 6:30 am when the fog was so thick and the air was so cold.
Fog-full view!

Fog-less view!
Every time the fog clears up for a few seconds, we get mesmerized with the wonderful view of clustered mountains that looks like a bigger Chocolate Hills of Bohol - the view that attracted thousands of mountaineers and tourists to climb Osmeña Peak.

After hoping for some time for the fog to clear up, we spent most of the time at the peak taking a solo picture like the ones above.
On our way down when the sun seems to be already up!
On our way down, it seems that the sun is up but we are not sure if it is enough to clear the fog. Still, this is one short climb yet very fulfilling. Along the way, make sure not to step on the local's planted vegetable, another reason why the place is so scenic after all.
Look at the freshness of that!
