Minalungao National Park, Hidden Gem of Nueva Ecija (Team Promising goes to Minalungao National Park)

Welcome to Minalungao Park!
The first time I heard of Minalungao National Park was from a friend of friend who was amazed that I came from Nueva Ecija. She said she visited a very nice place in N.E., called Minalungao National Park.

Upon checking, I found out that Minalungao National Park is in General Tinio and is a protected area. It’s been protected since 1976 and is considered as a natural environment.

How to go to Minalungao Park:

You can travel via bus from Manila to Gapan, then Gapan to General Tinio. Most people in the area are familiar with the place so they can definitely drive you to the park with no problem. It is recommended to have your car though because the place is far from the town.

What you can see at Minalungao National Park?
Huge limestone
The park is 2,018 hectares and is centered along the beautiful Penaranda River. The river is in between of high limestone walls, said to be at least 16 meters high. The limestone walls were at the foothills of the Sierra Madre mountain range.

A place to stay

To attract tourists and visitors, locals have put in picnic huts in the area. For only P200, you can have a picnic hut all day.
Lunch Mode
For a more adventurous experience, dine while rafting along Penaranda River. The raft, along with the raft guide costs P500.

on the Raft!
The guide can take you as well to the swimming area where you can enjoy the cold, greenish water of the river within the Minalungao National Park.

Swimming time!
For those who cannot swim, the park offers life buoy for only P50.

The "Salbabida Girls"
There are also unexplored caves in the area but since we just came from our Sagada adventures, we decided to just take a look at the nearest cave around. The cave that we visited is still unexplored and so is the others.

Inside the Cave
If you are up for more challenge, you can also try your legs’ strength and climb their 1,000 steps hill, where you can find a big cross at the top.

The man in blue!
1,000 steps and more!
A pose after 1,000 steps
Feels like an Indian Buddha!
As you make each step, you can also feast your eyes on the views that only a place like Minalungao National Park can offer.

On the top of the world!
